To identify new international business opportunities: objective of the Andalusian aerospace delegation at ILA Berlin 2012
A total of eight Andalusian aerospace and entities will attend ILA Berlin next week, one of the world’s most important aerospace and defence meetings, with the objective of making a qualitative leap in the international process and increase the Andalusian presence in more outstanding programmes.
The Andalusian delegation will attend the meeting looking for new business opportunities with the prime global aircraft manufacturers and tiers 1 such as EADS, Boeing, Bombardier or Thales, among others, which will attend the event presenting their latest projects and will analyze the market seeking new partners and suppliers. Andalusian enterprises are willing to establish contacts and commercial meetings with other international firms which may become strategic contracts or agreements of collaboration to enlarge their international business portfolio which reached 988 million euros in 2011, 57% of the total aerospace income.
The Andalusian participation is organized by the Trade Promotion Agency of Andalusia Extenda (Regional Ministry of Economy, Innovation, Science and Employment), being led by the Andalusian Aerospace Cluster Hélice. This mission is composed by the enterprises and entities Aerosertec, CESA, Ghenova, Tecnigrab-Indaero, Mecatecnic, Prescal, Sofitec and the Aerospace Technological Park Aerópolis, all of them Hélice members.
The Andalusian participation will also be focused on the event `International Suppliers Center ISC´, scheduled to be held from 11-13 September. This is a great platform that gives the companies access to global markets. ISC includes two International Buyers’ Days, on the 12 and 13, when suppliers and OEMs will be offered an exclusive market place for networking and establishing contacts. Moreover, the Andalusian delegation will have a 36 squared metres stand where participant firms will be able to meet with other aerospace managers.
This mission’s final goal is to boost the internationalization of the Andalusian aerospace companies and encourage customer and product diversification. At the same time, Andalusian firms will present the Arospace Annual Report as prime credential of its industry development, in which Andalusia got consolidated as the second national aerospace pole, with a service companies growth of 16% and 8% in turnover and employment, respectively.
Aerospace exports to Germany
According to the Andalusian Internationalization Economy Observatory, within Extenda, Andalusia has hit historic highs in aerospace exports, with 481.6 million euros in sales during the first semester of the year, which means 32% of the national total and a growth of 3,2% compared to the fall of 5% undertaken up and down the country.
Germany is highlighted as the third destination with 13,5% of the total which mean 65 million of euros, 2,8% more than during the first semester of 2011, year when sales towards the German country rose 37%. France has still the first destination, with 40% of the Andalusian total income (196.6 million euros) and a growth of 24.1%, although most of the growth is incurred by the Unated States, where sales have been doubled (+100.5%), being positioned as the second destination in exports with 69.7 million euros, 14,5% of the total.
