The Andalusian aerospace industry will attend Farnborough 2012 searching for new international business opportunities
A total of eight Andalusian aerospace enterprises and entities will attend Farnborough 2012, one of the world’s most important aerospace events, taking place from 9 to 15 July in the town of the same name, in Hampshire (UK), searching for new business opportunities within the international aerospace industry.
The Andalusian delegation will attend the show aimed at establishing contacts and holding trade meetings with other international firms with which may sign strategic agreements of collaboration or new relevant contracts and projects for the Andalusian aerospace firms afterwards. Once again, world’s prime aircraft manufacturers and subcontractors will participate at the event such as EADS, Boeing, Embraer or Bombardier, which will present their latest products and will analyze the market searching for new partners and supplier.
Hélice is leading this expedition, organized by the Trade Promotion Agency of Andalusia Extenda (entity under the Regional Government of Economy, Innovation, Science and Employment) which is composed by the firms Ghenova, Sofitec, UMI Aeronáutica, Prescal, CESA, Aerosertec, Alestis Aerospace and the Aerospace Technological Park of Andalusia, all of them Helice’s members.
The final objective of this action is to boost Andalusian aerospace enterprises’ internationalization and encourage their customer and product diversification. In order to achieve this, the Andalusian service industry will have its own 21 square meters space-stand, where attending firms will hold business meetings with other international aerospace companies and institutions’ managers. Meetings with business associations and aerospace clusters from different countries like US (Oklahoma, Missouri, South Carolina), Mexico (Proméxico, Chihuahua), Italy (CampaniaAerospace, Torino Piamonte), Canada (Ontario), and Belgium (Flag and Skywin), as well as with the Canadian manufacturer Bombardier, to explore the participation of Andalusian firms in its manufacturing facility in Morocco, are scheduled on the Hélice’s agenda.
At the same time, Andalusian service firms will present their credentials as an example of development according to the latest Annual Report in which Andalusia consolidated its position as the second national aerospace pole with a growth of 16% and 8% in turnover an number of employees, respectively.
Service enterprises’ network had international sales valued at €180 millions last year, 18% of the aerospace Andalusian exports (998 millions). As a whole, the Andalusian aerospace industry has multiplied by five its sales to others countries in the last decade (from 187 to 998€ millions) and now is the second Spanish region with more sales abroad.
