CATEC Center for Advanced Aerospace Technologies
Description
“Center for Advanced Aerospace Technologies”, CATEC, is a first class tool for generation and management of Aerospace Science and Technology, in coordination with the Academy and Industry.
CATEC participates, individually or in cooperation with firms and/or organizations
from Andalucía, in the development of activities related to:
- Applied research.
- Technological development.
- Technological prospective and intelligence.
- New technologies management.(protection and industrialization)
CATEC facilities consists on:
3000 m2 laboratories and workshops,
plus 1500 m2 offices and meeting rooms,
located in the Aeropolis Aerospace Technological Park, in Seville (Spain).
The center, managed by Andalusian Aerospace Development Foundation –FADA- has a steering committee with representants of National Aerospace Technology Institute –INTA- , University of Seville, Andalusian Innovation Agency (regional government) and several private firms. It aims to satisfy the R&D requirements of firms in the aerospace industry by the development of technologies and/or transfer of know-how.

The center in divided into five technological areas:
Materials and processes.
Automation and robotics.
Avionics and systems.
Simulation and software.
Unmanned Air Vehicules platforms. -UAV-.
CATEC also provides knowledge management support in these
technological areas, developing, coordinating and/or managing
R&D projects, fostering the transfer of technologies and providing
technical vigilance and prospective in the aerospace sector.
