The Seville company Teams, created in 2006 as a spin-off of the university of Seville for the development of technical projects in the aeronautical sector, has received the Business Innovation Award for 2009 granted by the financial newspaper Cinco Dias in the category of most innovative university-related business action. The company was unanimously voted by the jury of the competition, which valued the work carried out by TEAMS in relation to different technical aspects of the A380 aircraft, the giant commercial airliner by Airbus.

The professors of the university of Seville and founders of TEAMS, José Cañas and Federico Paris, accepted the award consisting of a commemorative work designed by the sculptor from Donostia, Cristina Iglesias. The two professors expressed their gratitude for the award and highlighted that "the mission of universities is teaching and research, in addition to the transfer of knowledge to the productive sector.

The creation of a company such as TEAMS is yet another example of what society demands from universities”. The company located in the Aeropolis Aerospace Technology Park has a staff of 21 employees, of which 14 are university graduates. It is a technology-based company which is firmly committed to the definition, development and improvement of methods and procedures in the field of experimental and numerical analysis of aeronautical materials and structures, and it has a strong emphasis on the promotion of research and development in the field. Its habitual suppliers include EADS, the European company owned by Airbus.
